ANTICHLOR 214

A commercial strength, fast-acting liquid antichlor for neutralization of all residual chlorine left after the bleaching process. For eliminating chlorine carry-over in commercial laundry applications. This is essential if the work is going to be heated in a tumble dryer or an ironer because hot sodium hypochlorite solutions accelerate the rotting of cotton and shorten textile life.

ANTICHLOR 214

Product Benefits

AntiChlor 214 is an additive for eliminating chlorine carry-over in commercial laundry applications, which also reduces fabric damage by chemically neutralizing the residual chlorine bleach in the washing process.

  • Versatile formula.
  • Controls chlorine residuals and iodine based stains.
  • Liquid formulation.
  • Low viscosity liquid which can becontrolled through a dispensing system.
  • Safe on all fabrics with no special handling needed.
  • Phosphate free.
  • Near neutral pH.
  • Non-foaming.
  • All water temperatures.

It is also a reducing additive. Certain types of stains, especially medicinal stains (i.e. iodine, betadine) can only be removed with a reducing additive. These types of stains are unaffected by chlorine bleach.

Application

AntiChlor 214 prevents yellowing (or galling), caused by residual alkalinity on fabric. Applied in the rinse water. Elimination of residual chlorine is essential, as traces on fabric in combination with high temperatures during drying, will cause excessive fabric damage. Accidental over-dosing of AntiChlor 214 will not lead to a too low pH, and consequently, the risk of fabric damage is minimal.

Use Instructions

Recommended dosage levels: Use 5 mL of AntiChlor 214 per Litre of water. In general 25 – 75 mL of AntiChlor 214 per 22 kg of work will be sufficient to neutralize all chlorine residue.

Rinse the fabric well with warm water to remove the bleach.
Soak your fabric in the neutralizing agent mixed with the appropriate amount of warm water.
The fabric should soak in the neutralizer for about 10 minutes.
Rinse your neutralized fabric in warm water.

AntiChlor 214 may be added to the final rinse to neutralise any traces of chlorine bleach remaining in the work. AntiChlor 214 coming into contact with chlorine bleach too early will negate stain removal. The amount of this product to be used will vary according to the load size, soil type and amount, water conditions, and other factors.

ANTICHLOR 214 allows for heavy “shock” chlorine treatment where needed for extra destaining without concern about chlorine residue. Your Biocel Service Representative will analyse these variables and set up dispensing equipment and usage concentration accordingly and advise.
